This page is currently under development and shows various people and sites with historic significance for the Tymon family
This picture of John William Tymon (Left) is one of
my personal favourites. John William was my great
grandfather. He was born on 24 February 1885 in
Cottam, Yorkshire. Many people have said that I
look very much like him. John William is holding
my Granddad Wiliiam Stephen. Also shown are
his wife Daisy Sedman and Edwin. The picture
must have been taken around 1914.
The picture (right) shows the gravestone of
James Tymon (my ggg grandfather). He was
born in around 1827 in Hull and married Sarah
Peart in Scarborough in 1855. The stone shows
that he died on 4 August 1879. James was a
tailor by trade. After his death Sarah made a
living as a greengrocer.
And the house where James Tymon and
family lived in 1861 at number 1
Longwestgate (left). The sign on the wall
says Cross Street. Longwestgate is the road
straight ahead and number one is the first
on the right with the red door. You can just
see the walls of Scarborough Castle in the
distance.
Many thanks go to Mo Scanlan for very kindly
taking these pictures for tymon.org.

They show: top left, the entrance to Tymon
Park in South Dublin, top right, the plaque
unveiled on the park's opening in 1986
and bottom left, the site of the Tymon Castle
